The new High Voltage Relay RL 42-l (l = low current) was developed on the base of the long time proven RL 42. When developing, special emphasis was put on a low energy consumption. The energy consumption for the use of the new low current variant is just about 30% compared to a conventional HV relay. This can be ensured by a lower drive power at the same switching parameters. Further advantages are the lower power loss and a lower heat generation by using large relay matrices. The coil controller works with constant current – regardless of the driving voltage. The new high voltage relay RL 42-L needs only 1.7 watt.
