BoroFloat™ 8" Lapping Plate

The BoroFloat™ 8" Lapping Plate is produced by a float technique that yields superior surface accuracy, typically 4 - 6 waves per inch （one wave equals 0.00002"）. The resulting flatness makes this product an excellent choice for a hand lapping plate. In addition, this material exhibits excellent thermal properties and chemical resistance. This lapping plate is about three times more resistant to thermal shock than standard soda lime glass. It has the thermal expansion properties of Tempax® or Pyrex®. Chemical resistance includes water, saline solutions, neutral and acidic solutions, chlorine, bromine, iodine, and organic substances.
