Trichostatin A (TSA) is a potent inhibitor of histone deacetylase (HDAC) as well as an antifungal antibiotic with cytostatic and differentiating properties that noncompetitively and reversibly inhibits HDAC, at low nanomolar concentrations, in both cultured mammalian cells and fractionated cell nuclear extracts.
