近几年，测定细胞或组织中的小G蛋白的活性已经成为信号转导研究者广泛应用的技术。小G蛋白中的Rho家族包含至少有20个成员，其中zui有特性研究做多的是Rho、Rac、 Rrf 、Cdc42、Ras、Ral 。来自美国的Cytoskeleton公司为小G蛋白活性检测提供了两种方法：pull-down（Affinity bead followed by Western blot format）和G-Lisa(Elisa based format).
