Gold Nanoparticles纳米金是一种以氯金酸（HAuC14）为主要材料，通过还原来制备成的胶体金（colloidalgold），它通常是一种金颗粒的悬浮液，其粒径为1-100nm不等，颜色呈紫红色。该产品可被应用于探针、印迹、、传送等等。

胶体金颗粒也是Gold Nanoparticles纳米金颗粒的结构，实际上是由一个金（Au）做为，其Au的包裹的内外二层离子层，内层离子层带负离子auc12，其作用是紧紧链接金核（Au），外层离子层带正离子H，其作用是均匀的分散在胶体间的溶液中，以维持稳定的悬浮状态。

Gold Nanoparticles纳米金颗粒的性状一般小于30纳米的 都会呈现是规律的圆球形状，如果大于30纳米的胶体金（Gold Nanoparticles）一般是呈现的椭圆状的。颜色上来讲也有比较细微的划分，一般是2-5nm间的会呈现橙黄色，8nm-25nm的会呈现酒红色，30nm-100nm的是呈现紫红色。

光吸收性胶体金在可见光范围内有一单一光吸收峰，这个光吸收峰的波长（λmax）在510～550nm范围内，随胶体金颗粒大小而变化，大颗粒胶体金的λmax偏向长波长，反之，小颗粒胶体金的λmax则偏于短波长。
