The SERES environnement COLILERT® 3000 is an
automatic analyser for the bacteriological control of
drinking and beach water. It enables quick detection
of TOTAL COLIFORMS or ESCHERICHERIA COLI:
Bacteriological analysis of water is essential in order
to detect pollution and eventual health hazards.
Besides the fact that grab samples are only taken
during working hours, the conventional laboratory
method is long and does not allow a permanent follow
up of the water’s microbiological quality.
On-line monitoring with automatic sampling ensures a
faster detection of pollution.
SERES has automated the Total Coliform or E.Coli
measure, using the Colilert detection method, commercialized
by IDEXX and approved by the USEPA.
Therefore, the COLILERT â 3000 may be used :
- either on drinking water – monitoring of an eventual
contamination by total coliforms,
- or on sea water – to monitor bathing requiring bacteriological
control, notably E.Coli monitoring.
The aim of this self-monitoring is to obtain the most
precise response 24 hours a day, in order to take the
quickest possible action. Total coliforms which are
more numerous than E.Coli are used as an early indication
of pollution.
Colilert is an IDEXX Laboratory trade mark, registered
or not in the US and/or other countries. The COLILERT
3000 analyser uses this trade mark under licence
